Why my background is mostly green and grass?

I can't think any of the background that fits with the characters but i still keep doing it anyway to keep it lively instead of plain

Backgrounds are tricky. It really helps to have a cool background behind your character instead of plain white space, but as the name "background" implies, it shouldn't be so interesting to look at that it distracts from the main character of the scene.
I like blue sky/green grass backgrounds, though. They remind of the famous Windows 7 default background. And to "touch grass" outside after being on Newgrounds and other websites for WAY too long...
